Section 01

Who needs a student visa

In many countries, a child who will study at a school as an international student needs a student visa of their own, even when travelling with family. The exact rules depend on the country and on whether a parent is also moving on another visa.

1. Confirm the school can enrol international students

Only approved schools can accept international students. Your counsellor checks this before you apply.

2. Plan the guardian arrangements

Younger students usually need to live with a parent or an approved guardian. This affects the visa application, so decide it early.

Section 02

Choosing the right school

Look beyond results. Ask about English language support, class sizes, the curriculum offered and the school's experience with international students. Visiting virtually or in person helps your child feel ready.
